CBC Accreditation

If you haven't yet achieved CBC (Certified Business Communicator) status, it may be time to start thinking about this valuable, career-enhancing accreditation available only from the Business Marketing Association. The CBC designation is recognized as a mark of professionalism in the business-to-business marketing community. It can be earned by any eligible professional dedicated to excellence in business-to-business communications.

Once you have earned certification, colleagues and clients will recognize you as someone who's made the extra effort to know your job inside out. CBC is a badge of honor. It's a distinction that lifts you above other practitioners, signaling peers and prospects alike that your knowledge and experience in business-to-business communications places you in the highest echelon of the profession, and that you are committed to rigorous ethical standards. It's an endorsement that can offer you a professional advantage, whether you are building your own business or working toward more responsibility in any organization.

As a CBC, you'll join more than 3,500 business marketing communications professionals around the world who have earned this distinction since the program began in 1978. And, according to the 2000 BMA Salary Survey, CBCs earn an average 15% more than their non-certified contemporaries!

The Certified Business Communicator program is sponsored by the Business Marketing Association as an industry service. Certification is available both to members of the BMA and to non-members. The program's objectives are:
  • To establish and maintain a uniform standard of professional competence in the field of business marketing communications
  • To recognize those communications practitioners who successfully meet the education, experience, knowledge, and professional conduct requirements of the CBC program
  • To encourage continuing education and professional development among business marketing communicators
